Begun in 1986 as one man's personal efforts to feed the hungry, Celestial Manna has grown to a volunteer organization that now feeds upwards of 500 people every week. Staffed entirely by volunteers, and funded through charitable donations, this outreach program continues to provide for those who would otherwise fall through the holes in the safety net.
Our Mission
Our ProfileCelestial Manna is a 501(c)3 organization operating under the guidance of Scripture: "He it is who sees justice done for the orphan and the widow, who loves the stranger and gives him food and clothing. (Love the stranger then, for you were once strangers in Egypt.)" (Deuteronomy 10:18-19, NJB)
"... there will
never cease to be poor people in the country, and that is why I am giving
you this command: "Then it will be their
turn to ask, “Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty, a stranger or
lacking clothes, Our Methods"How does it all work? How does it get to these people?"
Stores give goods TO Volunteers who then give the food TO Those who need it.
Volunteers drive to district stores and bring the donations to
distribution points such as parking lots, apartment buildings, and homes.
